In the latest Justice Department attorney departure, Jason Crawford has rejoined Crowell & Moring from the agency. The firm said Crawford’s arrival, announced Wednesday, strengthens its False Claims Act, investigations, and government contracts practices.
Crawford, who arrives as a partner in Washington, D.C., spent the last three years as a trial attorney in the fraud section of the DOJ’s Civil Division, where he investigated and litigated cases stemming from alleged False Claims Act, Truth in Negotiations Act and Procurement Integrity Act violations, among other government contracting laws. Before moving into the public sector in early 2020, Crawford began his legal career as an associate at Crowell in 2014, later becoming counsel at the firm.
