An attorney urged the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on Friday to uphold a district judge’s ruling in favor of a group of publishers who filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the nonprofit Internet Archive for its e-book offerings.

Elizabeth McNamara, who represents Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins Publishers, John Wiley & Sons and Penguin Random House, argued that Internet Archive is seeking “a radical change in the law which, if accepted, would destabilize the digital economy.”
