Data broker Outlogic has agreed not to share or sell sensitive location data in settlement of a Federal Trade Commission complaint that the company failed to place appropriate safeguards on the third-party use of the personal information.

In its administrative complaint, the FTC claimed the company formerly known as X-Mode Social sold location data that could be used to track people’s visits to such places such as medical or reproductive health clinics, places of worship, and domestic abuse shelters.
