A non-attorney judge in Lake Placid resigned amid a probe into whether he retaliated with bias and hostility toward a defense attorney who had filed complaints about him to New York’s judicial misconduct watchdog, the state agency said on Tuesday.
Former North Elba Town Justice Alec Friedmann had been a judge since January 2019 before he resigned on Dec. 26, with more than two years remaining on his term, the state Commission on Judicial Conduct said.
