The Supreme Court of North Carolina heard oral arguments Feb. 21 from counsel representing a law firm and an insurance company locked in a battle over the “duty to defend” stemming from an invasion of privacy class action.
David L. Brown of Goldberg Segalla and Richard L. Pinto of Pinto Coates Kyre & Bowers, both in Greensboro, North Carolina, argued on behalf of the North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance Co. and the Lanier Law Group before Supreme Court justices. The case originates from the tendering of defense by a law firm to its insurer in a privacy violation suit.
