Patent defense attorneys in the Southern District of New York and Central District of California have their work cut out for them after Texas-based nonpracticing entity Linfo IP unleashed a flurry of four new patent infringement suits on Tuesday, alleging several companies have customer review portals that infringe on its intellectual property. The current alleged infringers include business review platform Trustpilot and timepiece retailer MVMT Watches.

This isn’t Linfo’s first foray with alleged infringers. According to CourtListener, the company has filed 45 patent infringement actions against businesses, including Walmart, Guitar Center and Big Lots, since 2021. The company was and continues to be represented by William “Bill” Ramey III and sometimes Susan Kalra of the Texas-based Ramey Firm.
