Dozens of plaintiffs’ lawyers are contesting the size and structure of the leadership team that should steer the sprawling MOVEit data breach lawsuits, which now name more than 90 defendants.

In separate proposals submitted to U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs, who is overseeing about 270 lawsuits in multidistrict litigation in Massachusetts, plaintiffs’ lawyers submitted potential structures that would attempt to organize various groups of defendants, which includes customers of Progress Software Corp., maker of the MOVEit file transfer software. A Russian hacker’s breach of the software on May 31 affected more than 1,000 organizations.
