McKool Smith and co-counsel Keller Postman helped the Office of Attorney General of Texas secure a $1.4 billion settlement with Meta Platforms Inc. for alleged unauthorized personal data capture.
Attorney General Ken Paxton said the settlement was the largest ever obtained by the office. It is also the largest privacy settlement any attorney general has reached, dwarfing the $390 million settlement a group of 40 states obtained in 2022 from Google, Paxton claimed.
