A former administrative assistant and police officer have accused a mayor of a Chicago suburb of violating the Illinois Human Rights Act, claiming they were removed from their positions after bringing forward sexual assault allegations against a village trustee.

A civil suit filed April 8 in Cook County Circuit Court was brought against Tiffany Henyard, the mayor of the Village of Dolton, who also serves as supervisor of Thornton Township, as well as village trustee and local activist Andrew Holmes for allegedly violating the Illinois Human Rights.
