The Illinois Supreme Court ruled that the statute of limitations period for claims under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act is up to five years, partially reversing an appellate court decision.
The court ruled that it would be best to apply the five-year limitations period contained in section 13-205 of the Code of Civil Procedure, in a case involving an ex-employees claims of their employer violating the Biometric Information Privacy Act.
