Alston & Bird client Electrolux Home Products has secured a $5 million judgment after a 20-year-long contract dispute against its opponent, the Whitesell Corp. In addition to spanning multiple decades, the battle crossed state lines, saw dozens of attorneys come and go and brought in a subsidiary corporation, Husqvarna, which had not been part of the initial dispute.
Whitesell was represented by a series of attorneys from firms including Troutman Pepper, Aloia Roland and others. When asked for comment on the verdict, a representative from Whitesell said that the company “does not comment on pending litigation.” Amanda Waide, a partner at Alston & Bird, representing Electrolux, said she expects the company to appeal.
