The plaintiffs in a Fulton County wrongful eviction suit had it all in early February when the trial court awarded summary judgment against their defendant on counts of breach of contract, conversion, wrongful eviction and unjust enrichment. In the court’s words, “There are no genuine issues of material fact with respect to the plaintiff’s claims.”
However, things took a turn at trial, when the jury awarded less than the defendant’s highest settlement offer of $10,000. The plaintiffs’ highest pretrial demand was $75,000 and they asked for $200,000 to $300,000 at trial. So, what happened?
