The battle over medical marijuana production licensing in Georgia saw new developments this week as Judge Rachel Krause of the Superior Court of Fulton County granted a losing company’s motion to stay its state court litigation pending the resolution of its discretionary application to the state Court of Appeals.
The company, Aspire, applied for a medical marijuana production license under Georgia’s 2019 Hope Act. The legislation created an application process for potential medical marijuana producers in Georgia and established the Georgia Medical Cannabis Commission, which would oversee licensing.
