Following Treble Damages Award, Federal Judge Adds $359K in Attorney Fees and Costs in Consumer Suit

A federal judge in Pennsylvania awarded plaintiffs nearly $360,000 in attorney fees, costs and expert fees under the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law (UTPCPL) in a lawsuit against a homebuilder.

In a March 20 opinion, U.S. District Judge Marilyn J. Horan of the Western District of Pennsylvania awarded plaintiffs Laura Catena and Gregory Novotny their requested $318,131 in attorney fees, $12,894.53 in costs, and $27,640.86 in expert fees.
