A lawyer formerly with New York City’s Corporation Counsel can continue his civil rights lawsuit against City Hall, a judge has ruled.

Attorney Karl Ashanti sued the city and NYPD officers Luigi Tirro and John Shapiro in 2019, after he was falsely arrested while heading to work and later forced to resign from his job.
