Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal recently reversed a trial court’s order holding that a Connecticut contempt order and capias were nonfinal, and, thus, not entitled to full faith and credit under Florida’s Enforcement of Foreign Judgments Act.

In 2012, a Connecticut jury returned a verdict award in favor of D’Anna Welsh against William V. Martinez Jr. for more than $2 million in damages for invasion of privacy claims in which Martinez allegedly installed spy equipment in Welsh’s home, on her computer, and on her vehicle, according to the Florida appellate court’s opinion filed Nov. 9.
