The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit issued a partial award of attorney fees to a University of Michigan student who alleged he was denied due process when his transcript was frozen during an investigation into a sexual assault allegation against him.

The John Doe plaintiff’s student account was placed on temporary hold during an investigation into the sexual assault accusations made against him, which prevented him from accessing his transcript. Doe filed suit, alleging he had been denied due process because he needed to be to access his transcript in order to send it to graduate schools he had applied and been accepted to.
