Litigation funders are braced for months of uncertainty as the U.K. government drops a key bill, designed to overturn a piece of proposed legislation, which they believe would have made it easier for members of the public to secure litigation funding for complex claims.

The Litigation Funding Agreements (Enforceability) Bill—which would have overturned a Supreme Court decision from 2023, known as the PACCAR judgment, that made many litigation funding agreements unenforceable—will not complete its passage through Parliament before the general election takes place on July 4.
