We all know the stereotype: a seasoned, tech-adverse attorney furiously capturing notes on her yellow legal pad while drowning in a sea littered with printed rule books and case law.
It’s not a wholly unwarranted typecast. The evolution of technology has generated healthy skepticism throughout the legal industry, including among corporate counsel, as various waves of innovation wash up on their shore, claiming to be the future. Among these, AI’s impact on the law is far from a new story, stretching back to Professor Richard Susskind’s “End of Lawyers” book in 2008 and beyond.
