During 2019, there was a radical workplace shift where collaboration tools and platforms were relied upon to facilitate remote work, keep teams connected and productive. Since the pandemic began, 66% of companies have expanded the use of collaboration tools, while 53% increased the use of digital channels. (CCW 2020 Market Study: New Standards for Customer Contact Performance.) Gartner estimated that in 2019 employees at large firms were sending over 200 Slack messages per week on average. Today, the average Slack user sends roughly 110 messages a day.

Today, nearly 80% of employees use collaboration tools for work (Gartner 2021 Digital Worker Experience Survey. Remote and hybrid work has evolved into a long-term model, reliant on cloud-based technologies and collaboration tools to meet the requirements of the modern workforce. By 2026, the collaborative applications market is estimated to be at $63.8 billion. (IDC Worldwide Collaborative Applications Forecast, 2021-2025.)
