While the pendulum might swing towards an embrace of the “return to office” policies at some point, the hybrid work model—where legal professionals either work fully remotely or only come into the office a few days a week—will hold sway for the foreseeable future.
For all of its flexibility and advantages, this hybrid work model comes with its own undeniable challenges. For starters, the chance to quickly pop your head into someone’s office to ask a question, gather colleagues for an ad hoc meeting, or get an answer to questions like “what’s the latest update for matter Y?” or “where are we with contract X?” by asking the person next to you have been greatly reduced.
