On Wednesday, legal research platform Casetext announced the launch of CoCounsel, an AI legal assistant that allows lawyers to “reliably delegate substantive, complex work to an AI assistant—just as they would to a legal professional—and trust the results,” according to the press release.
The latest legal tech company to bring the powers of generative AI to the legal industry, CoCounsel “leverages the latest, most advanced large language model from OpenAI, which Casetext has customized for legal practice,” the release said. Jake Heller, co-founder and CEO of Casetext, described the model to Legaltech News as being able to read, write and understand at a post-graduate level.
