While it was no surprise that California, home to the global center for high tech innovation, led the way in passing and enacting consumer data privacy laws in 2020, Virginia hasn’t been far behind, with its own legislation going into effect at the beginning of the year.
Still, key differences set the laws apart in terms of how consumer challenges are handled.
