State legislators have agreed to raise annual licensing fees for active lawyers by $88, bringing the total bill to $553 in 2025.

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday endorsed the latest draft of the annual state bar funding bill, which includes the fee hike. The $88 increase, the majority of which will pay for higher bar employee salaries, is less than the $125 bar trustees sought but more than the $65 lawmakers were offering this spring.
