An Atlanta litigator has filed an emergency writ of mandamus on behalf of another attorney seeking to compel the Secretary of State to issue a final decision in a residency challenge brought against Georgia Court of Appeals candidate Jeff Davis.

Less than a week remains until voters are set to decide whether to fill retiring Presiding Judge M. Yvette Miller’s intermediate appellate seat with Davis or opponent, Cobb County Magistrate Judge Tabitha Ponder.
