As the clock ticks on Atlanta Judicial Circuit Judge Shermela J. Williams’ first four-year term on the Fulton County Superior Court bench, the jurist finds herself under investigation by the Judicial Qualifications Commission of Georgia.

From allegedly engaging in ex parte communications in a pending proceeding to delaying case resolutions by failing to timely issue final orders in family court matters and failing to remain impartial in how she decides child custody cases, Williams faces 17 formal counts of alleged ethics violations dating back to 2021.
