To Lure New GC From Big Law, Baxter International Paid Handsome Sum

Leaving the prestigious law firm of McDermott Will & Emery after 24 years likely wasn’t easy for David S. Rosenbloom, who was the global head of the Chicago firm’s litigation practice group.

But his new employer, Baxter International, made the decision a little easier. It offered Rosenbloom a $2.5 million stock award to help lure him last April as Baxter’s new senior vice president and general counsel. His total compensation last year was $5.56 million, according to the Deerfield Park, Illinois company’s 2022 proxy statement.
