Notarize, a Boston-based remote notarization tech company that laid off about 25% of its 450-person workforce in June, dismissed the bulk of its 60-person legal department over the past year, according to the company’s now-former director of legal operations.
“I have gone through the full circle of emotions: shock, sadness, anger and most notably fear,” Catherine Cambridge wrote in a LinkedIn post. “This isn’t the hardest part though. The hardest part is feeling all of these emotions for my direct reports, who were also laid off. Legal operations, sadly, no longer exists at the company.”
