OpenAI’s Lawyer-Hiring Spree Drawing From Tech Elite

OpenAI has nearly doubled its in-house legal ranks in recent months, with the San Francisco-based ChatGPT creator scooping up lawyers with regulatory, data privacy and intellectual property expertise.

The hiring spree comes as the company faces mounting legal headaches and regulatory pressures, including a Federal Trade Commission investigation into data security and whether its chatbot generates false information.
