NLRB’s General Counsel Pushing Back Against ‘Close, Constant Surveillance’ of Employees

The general counsel of the National Labor Relations Board is aiming to use her organization’s powers to crack down on what she describes as “omnipresent” electronic surveillance of employees.

“Close, constant surveillance and management through electronic means threaten employees’ basic ability to exercise their rights,” NLRB general counsel Jennifer Abruzzo wrote in a nine-page memo issued Oct. 31.
