Just as employees can wreak havoc by spreading confidential or sensitive internal information far and wide, legal departments and law firms will need to be on guard for generative AI tools with “loose lips,” experts say.
While most people realize that artificial intelligence tools must be trained on data and documents to be useful, they may not consider the potential for the tools to later disseminate information to parties who shouldn’t have access to it, said Joshua Lenon, the lawyer in residence at law practice management software provider Clio.
