Legal teams that have been finding ways to “do more with less” for years are running out of ways to stretch their dollars. Worse, shrinking legal budgets may be inhibiting investments in tools that could, over the long term, improve productivity and efficiency.
At the same time, the IT department usually has an overarching budget that it can use to support other departments in their technology purchases. With software budgets for IT predicted to rise 12.3% in 2023—and some of IT’s resources subject to loss if they’re not spent within a specific time period—those unspent funds present a golden opportunity for better corporate stewardship.
