When Canada launched the first of four programs included in the country’s new Tech Talent Strategy, demand was so high that that it closed less than 48 hours later—experts weigh in on whether should U.S. based firms be concerned about losing tech talent to their neighbor to the north.
The new Tech Talent Strategy, was released by Canada in June and included four programs designed to lure tech talent north, but after opening the first prong of initiative, demand was so high that all 10,000 slots were filled in just over one day. Importantly, this program allowed the visa holder to work for any Canadian company and allowed them to bring their immediate family members.
