Colin Stretch will join the Brooklyn, New York-based company as chief legal officer and corporate secretary on Feb. 14. He replaces Jill Simeone, who departed in October after five years with the company. Etsy said she moved to an advisory role to spend more time with her family.
Stretch joined Facebook—now Meta—in 2010 and rose to general counsel three years later. He stepped down in 2018, as the company was facing a backlash in the U.S. and around the world over the spread of “fake news” and over questions over its handling of user data, which came to a head with the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
