The San Diego Padres recently promoted their legal chief, Caroline Perry, to be third-in-command at the Major League Baseball franchise—the latest in a string of examples of female lawyers gaining additional clout in the male-dominated league.
Perry joined the team as associate general counsel in 2011 and became general counsel in 2016. Before that, she spent four years in private practice and three years as an associate at Blackrock Financial Management.
