It used to be that landing a general counsel job was as good as it got for upwardly mobile in-house attorneys who weren’t looking to branch into other C-suite roles.
Now, perhaps it’s becoming “special adviser,” a role we seem to be seeing more and more often, though hard numbers aren’t available.
