Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is converting some of its collaborative areas in its London office into work space, as law firms continue to seek out the best balance between cellular and open-plan working.

A person close to the matter said that the firm is introducing changes to test the value of its collaboration spaces. This includes adding some desks in place of soft seating and more partitioning, though the firm has retained meeting spaces in these areas.
