Atlanta-founded Fisher Phillips has acquired a legal technology startup that helps clients draft noncompete agreements and other restrictive covenants. The move is another sign of Fisher Phillips investing in services for clients’ HR departments after the firm launched a consulting platform last year.

The labor and employment firm said Thursday it acquired North Carolina-based Blue Pencil Box and hired its founder, Jonathan Crook, as a partner. The firm said the tech startup will be folded into its new human resources support platform called fpSolutions.
