Less than three months after announcing that the firm will shutter its Beijing office, all of Proskauer Rose’s full-time partners in Greater China have left the firm. Those who have left include Beijing funds partner Yong Ren as well as Hong Kong corporate partner Jeremy Leifer. Ren joined Proskauer in 2014 and Leifer joined the firm three years earlier.
In June, Proskauer stated that it will continue to maintain its Hong Kong office in spite of its Beijing closure. At that time, the firm still had Leifer and three other associates employed in Hong Kong but all are no longer listed on the firm’s webpage. Until May of this year, Proskauer’s Hong Kong office also had one other partner, private equity and venture capital lawyer Jay Tai.
