O’Melveny & Myers chair Brad Butwin is quick to tout his firm’s recent impressive financial performance: eight straight years of revenue increases that saw it top the $1 billion mark. He’ll extoll its growth in a broader period of uncertainty and upheaval: 66 lateral partners since January 2020 and three new Texas offices since the firm opened in the state in 2021.
But he’s just as proud of O’Melveny’s historic and ongoing ties to public service. Just as the firm was once home to luminaires like U.S. Secretary of State Warren Christopher; U.S. Secretary of Transportation William Coleman, the second African American to serve in the U.S. Cabinet, and acting U.S. Solicitor General Walter Dellinger; former partner Lisa Monaco currently serves as U.S. deputy attorney general and President Joe Biden’s former chief of staff Ron Klain joined the firm earlier this year.
