Following Rule Change, Law Firm Leaders Must Stand Up to Bullying Partners

The legal industry has long been known for turning a blind eye to some anti-social behaviour from high-billing partners, but U.K. law firm leaders will soon be required to challenge bullies within their firms as part of incoming Solicitors Regulation Authority rules.

The regulation, which is pending approval from the Legal Services Board (LSB) and is expected to take effect in Spring 2023, places the responsibility on individual law firm managers to “challenge unfair treatment”, including bullying, harassment and discrimination.
