Big Law’s Cybersecurity Needs Are Shifting in a ‘Very Uncertain World’

Law firm data breaches and subsequent litigation are on the rise in 2023. And as technology continues to evolve at a rapid clip, the expectation for reasonable prevention and security measures continues to shift.

“2023 has woken law firms up,” said Sharon Nelson, a lawyer and the president of cybersecurity and information technology firm Sensei Enterprises. “We’ve seen more sophisticated attacks. We’ve seen more class actions. You have to take reasonable measures to prevent a breach, but what is reasonable has changed. It’s a very uncertain world.”
