Am Law 200 Law Firms Look for ‘Off-The-Radar’ Growth in the Southeast

Multiple Am Law 200 firms in recent weeks have expanded their roots in tertiary markets in the Southeast, pointing to lower costs, proximity to other outposts, increased opportunities since the pandemic and economic development that might be off the radar for much of Big Law.

Among the firms are Butler Snow, which announced the addition of 23 lawyers and nine professionals from Maynard Nexsen in Huntsville, Alabama, and Spencer Fane, which just opened new space in Greenville, South Carolina, after recruiting a litigation partner there in 2021.
