Legal operating system Filevine announced on Thursday the launch of Docs by Filevine, a standalone document management system (DMS) that the provider is positioning as a challenger to legacy DMS “incumbents like iManage and NetDocuments” by “offering a feature-rich, secure, and affordable alternative,” according to a press release.
As part of the impetus behind the new offering, the release cites the fact that, although DMS systems have risen in cost over the past decade, cloud storage costs have consistently decreased in that time. “Law firms deserve better,” Filevine CEO and Co-Founder Ryan Anderson said in the release. “Docs by Filevine offers unlimited storage, robust security, and powerful features like AI-powered OCR and e-signatures, all at a fraction of the cost of competitors.” The release estimates that the new DMS offering “comes in at roughly half the price of competitive solutions.”
