A federal judge this week awarded plaintiff’s counsel $1 million after having approved a shareholder derivative settlement against a renewable energy company’s board of directors and executives this month.

On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton of the District of Massachusetts made the award to Thomas J. McKenna of the New York-based firm Gainey McKenna & Egleston and local attorney Michael P. Utke.
