After a corporate client stopped paying legal bills and refused to allow its own law firm, Ackerman, to engage in discovery, a magistrate judge in New Jersey allowed the firm to withdraw as counsel for the plaintiff.

The case, Green Star Energy Solutions v. Edison Properties, was originally filed in the Supreme Court of New York by attorneys with Cox Padmore Skolnik & Shakarchy in February 2021. Since then, the case has been removed to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and Ackerman replaced Cox Padmore as plaintiff’s counsel, according to court records.
