Despite closing out 2022 down on revenue, profitability, equity partners and demand, the leaders of global law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner said they were pleased with the firm’s performance and ability to weather short- and long-term headwinds.
The firm posted $845 million in gross revenue, a 3.8% drop from 2021 that was mostly attributable to the firm’s separation with 17 partners and more than 200 personnel in Moscow following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, said co-chair Steve Baumer. The office previously posted annual revenues of $30 million. Billed hours were down roughly 10% from 2021 while rate increases were in line with peer firms, although BCLP declined to state the average rate hike.
