Dentons pulled in talent from eight offices to advise the Republic of Ecuador on a monumental debt-for-nature swap aimed at conserving a large swath of the Galápagos Islands and their marine ecosystems.
This debt purchase with cheaper financing is expected to generate long-term savings of more than $1.126 billion for Ecuador, while simultaneously generating $323 million to finance conservation activities over the next 18.5 years.
