Judges Florence Pan, J. Michelle Childs and Robert Wilkins of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit will hear oral arguments in September in TikTok’s challenge to a federal law that could lead to the app being shut down in the United States.
TikTok filed a petition this month asking the appeals court to strike down as unconstitutional the Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act. The law, which President Joe Biden signed last month, requires TikTok’s China-based parent company ByteDance to either sell the social media platform within 270 days or face a ban in the United States.
