  • The state bar members approved 12 disciplinary rules that the state supreme court must either adopt or reject.
  • One of the rules amends the responsibilities of attorneys in law firm management.
  • Another rule creates new requirements for attorneys that conduct business with clients unrelated to their case.

Two of the twelve proposed disciplinary rule changes pending approval by the Texas Supreme Court address the supervisory responsibilities of law firms and prohibited transactions with clients.
